The Role
The Semi Skilled Worker is part of the Care & Custody Team and is responsible for ensuring that MST workshop is kept clean and tidy while supporting the shopfloor with the efficient output of new build and overhauled / repaired boats. They are responsible for assisting MST Group in outputting customers boats and equipment to the correct standard in the agreed time frames. He/she is expected to maintain and clean the workshop, assist with the movement of boats, move parts to and from boats, providing manual labour services as required.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all MST Policies and Procedures are adhered to
- Safe and timely use of tractors and stackers to assist Production or Stores
- Provide Care & Custody of boats including cleaning, preparation, boat movements for MST contracts
- Responsible for ensuring the boat(s) movements are completed on time if not achievable report Workshop/Yard Manager
- Ensure all trailers/manual handling equipments are maintained and serviced (training given)
- Ensure daily/weekly/monthly checks are carried out on above in line with MST policy
- Provide proactive and planned movement of all craft
- Responsible for the cleanliness of MST Fleet vehicles
- Provide regular updates to Production /Workshop Manager
- Adopt a culture of cleanliness, quality and continuous improvement
- Cover the delivery of parts to and collect parts from MST Group suppliers and subcontractors, as and when required
- Power washing of all craft
- Ensure all hazardous waste is disposed of correctly using company procedures in HSE guidelines
- Assist with building maintenance/cleaning when required
Skills & Experience
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and communication skills and work to high professional standards
- Ensure Health, Safety & Welfare of all employees and MST visitors
- Have significant self motivation and initiative with the ability to manage own workload and work with minimum supervision
- Good communications skills
- Have and maintain a clean driving license for driving manual company vehicles
- Able to work supportively as part of a team and with a friendly and approachable personality
