MST design solid foundations for future.
MST (Marine Specialised Technology) have finalised the expansion of our in-house design and engineering department and upgraded it’s design software platform to the latest in cutting-edge computer aided design, Solidworks® Premium 2015.
Thirteen design and engineering personnel are now installed in post and are fully operational on a combination of Solidworks Standard and the more advanced Soliworks® Premium 2015 for simulation tasks. The design and engineering department boasts a multiskilled team covering Naval Architecture and advanced fluid dynamics, mechanical and structural engineering, Composite engineering, Marine Electrical design and embeded electronic navigation and control systems.
The investment in Solidworks® Premium 2015 is substantial, bringing MST’s design output closer to downstream processes and integrating more effectively with the manufacturing process.
Andy Phillips, MST’s Technical Director comments ‘The expanded team and the enhanced engineering and design CAD capability ensure projects progress through the business more efficiently, ensuring the product is delivered on spec, on time and on budget.’
As experts in rigid inflatable boat and craft concept design, Hull Design and tank testing, scantling determination and construction drawings, mangement of designs through to plan approval, composite and aluminium hull structures with full cutting kits and build packs, ergonomic assesments, Shock and Whole Body vibration (WBV) assesment and monitoring, stability assessment and the Rescue Boat Code Compliance, MST’s in-house design and engineering department are perfectly placed to complete any RIB brief.
Andy also says ‘As designers and engineers alway willing to push our boundaries in the rigid inflatable boat industry and embrace new learning, we also offer sub-contracted design services and project management to a range of businesses in non-competing sectors. The resource is a valuable asset to the business and quite literally we are limited only by our imagination.’
