Investing in the next generation at MST

We’re pleased to welcome our 2026 apprentice intake to MST.

🔧 Charlie Rolfe – Mechanical Fitter Apprentice
🔧 Callum Rolfe – Mechanical Fitter Apprentice
Louie Jones – Electrical Fitter Apprentice

For an SME like MST, apprenticeships are not just about recruitment. They are an important part of how we protect and grow the skills our business will need in the future. Engineering and manufacturing businesses depend on experienced, skilled people. If we don’t invest in developing the next generation, we risk losing years of practical knowledge as experienced employees move through their careers.

Working in partnership with The Engineering College, Wirral, our apprentices will combine formal technical training with real experience in our engineering and boat-building operations.

For us, the value of apprenticeships is clear. They allow us to develop people around the standards, skills and behaviours our business needs, while giving young people a genuine route into skilled engineering careers.

As an SME, we also have an advantage. Our apprentices can work closely with experienced engineers, get exposure to different parts of the business and see the direct impact of their work on the boats and systems we build.

That investment takes time and commitment, but it is essential if UK manufacturing and marine engineering businesses are going to maintain the skills and capability needed for the future.

Charlie, Callum and Louie are at the start of that journey, and we’re looking forward to supporting their development over the coming years.

Welcome to MST.
