Marine Specialised Technology Group Hits Major Milestone in UK MOD Patrol Craft Contract

Marine Specialised Technology Group (MST), a leading global manufacturer of high-speed patrol craft, is pleased to announce a significant milestone in its contract to supply the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) with eighteen (18) 15m high-speed Police Patrol Craft.

MST is preparing to deliver the 10th vessel in the series, marking a pivotal point in this prestigious contract, now in its fifth year. Notably, this 10th craft is delivered fully certified to the stringent new MCA Workboat Code 3 rules, making it one of the very first workboats in the UK to achieve this advanced standard.

Following this delivery, the 11th vessel is scheduled for handover shortly. Production is moving swiftly on the rest of the fleet, with the 12th, 13th, and 14th craft currently under construction, and the hull and wheelhouse mouldings for the 15th craft already at the factory.

The £36 million contract, awarded by Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), involves supplying sixteen patrol craft to the MOD Police (MDP) and two to the Gibraltar Defence Police (GDP), replacing ageing vessels to protect HM Naval Bases in the UK and Gibraltar.

The craft are designed for high-profile armed patrolling and essential security duties, developed in partnership with BMT as the new HPB-1500 (High-Speed Patrol Boat) model. They are designed to meet modern standards, focusing on high performance, reliability, and low environmental emissions.
