MST has been selected to receive the Armed Forces Covenant – Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award 2026.
This is the highest level of recognition under the scheme and marks a significant milestone for Marine Specialised Technology.

As an independent specialist boatbuilder and marine engineering SME based in the North West, our connection with Defence runs through both the work we deliver and the people we employ. We support UK and international Defence customers through the design, manufacture, integration and through-life support of specialist craft.
We also recognise the value that military experience brings into civilian employment.

The current geopolitical climate has increased the focus on readiness, resilience, sovereign capability and the need to strengthen the UK’s defence industrial base. Large prime contractors remain central to major Defence programmes, but they cannot deliver capability alone. A strong Defence sector also depends on specialist SMEs that provide technical knowledge, flexibility, innovation, responsive manufacturing support and direct understanding of customer and end-user needs.
