MST to attend humanitarian logistics trade show Amazonlog Expo 2017
MST to exhibit the new ILC-1000 at Amazonlog Expo 2017 then take part in major logistics exercise in the Amazon rainforest.
Amazonlog is a unprecedented Multinational Inter-agency Logistics Exercise which will be led by the Brazilian Army Logistics Command and take place from 6th- 13th November 2017, in Tabatinga, Amazonas State in Brazil.
Prior to that, the International Symposium on Humanitarian Logistics and an accompanying trade show will take place from 26th-28th September in Manaus, the capital of Amazonas, as the preparatory event for Amazonlog. It will involve over 1,700 military, academic and entrepreneurial visitors, 30+ exhibitor companies and 3 days of specialised lectures. Representatives of over 30+ countries will be participating a truly international event.
The Amazon has a triple border with Brazil, Colombia and Peru and the exercise will take place in this often hostile and challenging terrain and will involve a Logistics Base with troops and civilians from Brazil, Colombia, Peru and the United States of America.
The mission of the exercise is to develop strategies and train Logistics Units in order to support a myriad of infrastructure, defence, security, supply and humanitarian operations in this remote region. It is hoped that the learnings from the exercise will contribute to the sustainable development of the Amazon.
MST’s newly developed ILC-1000 will be a military spec in khaki green, specially designed to work in this particular territory and is a new addition to the innovative ILC range designed and manufactured by MST’s Specialised Inflatable Technology division – SIT.
Designed as a multi-role inflatable craft, the ILC-1000 has the ability to transport large payloads of up to 4000KG, including a range of vehicles, transport up to 36 personnel and be deployed in remote areas.
The LC-1000 incorporates heavy-duty keel sections and high-volume side tubes which provide excellent hull tracking and performance when operating in shallow and adverse conditions.
A special feature of the ILC-1000 allows the construction of an ILC-1000 ‘raft’ with the transoms removed any number of ILC-1000s can be connected using a special module to create an inflatable bridge.
