MST Yard Services Division Delivers Successful Refit Support for Halcyon Days

Marine Specialised Technology Limited (MST) Yards Services Division has successfully completed a comprehensive docking, support, and launch cycle for the vessel Halcyon Days, demonstrating the shipyard’s capacity for complex, multi-party refit projects.

The vessel was safely lifted out on 1st April 2026. MST’s specialist yard team immediately conducted a thorough pressure wash of the hull before securely positioning Halcyon Days on custom trestles and blocks. To facilitate the client’s intensive three-week maintenance schedule, MST allocated a dedicated, clear workspace within the yard, provided continuous shore power, and coordinated extended weekend access to keep the project on track.

Over the three-week docking period, the customer’s team executed a major mechanical and cosmetic overhaul. The intensive scope of work included:

  • Drawing the propulsion shafts and renewing the cutlass bearings.
  • Fitting brand-new propellers.
  • Executing structural welding repairs using specialist onsite welders.
  • Full bead-blasting of the hull followed by the application of a fresh, high-performance protective coating to the hull and exterior topsides.

On 23rd April 2026, MST safely re-launched Halcyon Days. Ensuring ultimate operational safety, MST held the vessel securely within the hoist while the client ran the engines to prove the newly overhauled propulsion systems. Following successful static tests, the MST team remained on standby with the hoist while Halcyon Days conducted initial river trials.

With all systems fully verified, the vessel was officially released and has since departed for Liverpool Docks to resume active service.
